In May and June 2013 I travelled to Christmas Island for bird watching and amateur radio operating. It was a great trip with 136 contacts all over the world.

In October 2013 from the 13th until the 20th I travelled to Lord Howe Island and operated using the call sign VK9DAC.

The trip is to do some more bird watching and radio operation. In addition I made two attempts to activate Malabar Hill at 208m for Summits on the Air (SOTA). Unfortunately both attempts failed to acquire the required contacts. The walk to Malabar Hill is classified as a 4/5 level walk, the views are magnificent.

Thanks to all those who made contact. QSL cards will be sent shortly.

JOTA over the weekend made it interesting with a number of JOTA station in the log.

A number of contacts were also made with the participants in the All Germany contest.
